This project involved structural strengthening of the hospital’s South Wing, and non-structural retrofit work in the South Wing, Central Plant, and Patient Tower buildings to comply with Senate Bill 1953 requirements for seismic resistance. The construction work was heavily phased to minimize disruption of the hospital's daily operations. Simpson & Simpson provided strategic planning and project/construction management to execute the work in a manner that allowed the Pharmacy, Radiology, Administration, and other key departments to effectively deliver healthcare services during the construction period.
